Who else is excited about the weekend?

Friday is that one day in the week that most people are looking forward to. Especially those who are not working on weekends or have a weekend off. That feeling of getting off work or being finished with school or university for the week is the best feeling ever. Sometimes we don't do enough to make our weekend the best they can be. It all starts with Fridays. Sometimes it is all up to Friday if your weekend is going to be relaxing or stressful. If you want to have a peaceful weekend than these are the things you need to do on Friday.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR WEEKEND RELAXING

COMPLETE MONDAY DEADLINES

How many of you spent Sunday afternoon working as you had a deadline on Monday? There is nothing as annoying as knowing that it is the last day of the weekend, and you need to spend it working. That's why completing urgent deadlines you might have the next week is going to make your life so much easier. On Friday's prioritize completing any work that might haunt you for the rest of the weekend.

Even if you need to spend extra hours working, it will make you feel relaxed throughout the weekend as you'll know that you won't need to stress because of anything work-related. Be sure to check your calendar and planner and get to work. I know how annoying that can be after you spent the whole week working and can't wait to finally relax a little bit, but this is for your own good. Pushing back the work you need to do is only going to make it worst.

GO GROCERY SHOPPING

It is most likely that you'll want to spend your weekend in the comfort of your bed or couch. That means that you won't really feel like leaving your home. To make sure that you don't need to, it is best to go over your kitchen cabinets and fridge and see if there is anything you need to buy food-wise. Think about the things you want to make this weekend and make a grocery list.

You definitely don't want to wake up on a Saturday morning and crave something you don't have ingredients for. It is better to buy everything you need at once than to go to the grocery shop multiple times when all you want to do is lay in bed. Buying everything at one go while focusing on your grocery list will also prevent you from buying unnecessary things. I made a free printable grocery list you can print and write down all the ingredients you need to buy.

CLEAN YOUR HOME

When we are working for the whole week and focus on other things, our home can get pretty messy. That is entirely normal as sometimes you just don't have enough time or energy to deep clean your home. Well, you probably don't want to spend your weekend living in a messy house. I know that a lot of people don't really enjoy cleaning, and I am definitely one of them.

The trick that helps me get through it is to set a timer to 1 or 2 hours and start cleaning my home. With the timer on, you'll feel much more productive, and you will actually be done sooner than you think. Put on a playlist, and you'll be done in no time. It is best to just get over it as fast as you can, and this trick really works wonder. Nobody wants to spend a whole afternoon cleaning. Especially not on your weekend off.

MEAL PREP FOR THE WEEK AHEAD

If you do not meal prepping for the week already, then I really suggest you start doing it. Meal prepping will save you so much time you would probably most likely want to spend relaxing after a long day at work. This is also great if you work from home or generally don't like to cook. Meal prepping for the week is not as hard as you may think it would be. There are so many easy recipes you can make in just a few hours and have meals for the whole week.

I recommend doing this on Friday as you will also have a meal ready for the weekend, but also you will thank yourself next week after you come back home from work. This is great for those who live alone and have nobody to cook for them after they come back home from work. All you need to do is take your prepared meal from the fridge and microwave it. This is a much healthier option than eating fast food.

FIND THINGS TO DO

A lazy weekend doesn't mean a boring weekend. Just because you want to relax, it doesn't mean al you need to do is lay in your bed. There are so many other things you can do. Use Friday to check if any fun activities are happening in your area. Even just going for a peaceful walk in nature is what will make your weekend so much better. Contact your friends and see what their plans are for the weekend.

Who knows, maybe some of them are down to hang out. If you would prefer to stay at home, then try out some new things. There are a lot of free and simple online lessons on basically anything you can think of. Why not start painting, make some Autumn DIY projects, make a new dish, or bake. Get excited for the weekend at the beginning of it. Making plans to do the things you love will make it even more exciting.
