Is What You’re Doing Now Going to Help Your Future Self?

Thursday, October 18, 2018

How often do you think about your future? It’s easy to think about it as something that is so far away and we have a lot of time until it comes. We usually daydream about it and don’t actually think too much in details as it’s something so abstract in our mind. If you think about it in a different way, you now were just a future to you 5 or 10 years ago. Take some time and try to remember where you wished to be when you were 5 years younger and if you’re really there now.

We All Feel Lost Sometimes, Don’t We?

Thursday, October 4, 2018

Your life can look perfectly put together from the outside while on the inside you just feel completely lost. You may not even be aware of that until you hit that something that makes you look straight and you finally see that you are off the track and now the real question how to get back or even better, do you want to get back? If this sounds familiar then I completely know how you feel. As confusing and unreal as that might feel sometimes it’s easier to just stay lost then to try and find the reason of that. After a time of wandering around I think that there always comes time when you are too far away from your true self and that is that eye-opening moment that we all have at one point or another.

You might ask yourself how I can be “lost” when I was never “found” in the first place. Well that’s a relevant question and to be completely honest, I don’t know. I just think that it’s just a part of life. Maybe being lost for some time isn’t that bad as it does put some things into perspective. It might be easier to realize what you want from life when you feel like you’re not living it the way you should. It’s so easy to feel pressured by society and our own perceptions of “perfect” life. It’s no wonder that we got lost when we are pushed from different directions on a road that others created for us and we think that it’s for the best if we just follow what others say as they surely now the best.

Having so many different opportunities that this modern era brings doesn’t make it any easier for us as amazing as diversity can be. The whole World is moving so fast and keeping up with it can be very tiring and confusing. Most of us have the freedom to choose what they want to be when they grow up, at least in some way or another, but we don’t actually know how to get there. Comparison that social media bring in us isn’t very helpful as it brings ours self-esteem down. You can see all these people showing their perfectly together life or at least that’s how we perceive it and the only natural reaction is to doubt yourself.

Not knowing what the next step in your life should be when you’re in your early twenties is quite scary. Although I don’t have any big problems in my life I still feel like I’m wasting my time on things that are completely irrelevant for my life and that I don’t have any benefits from whatsoever. While I feel lost I know that the precious time is passing by which means that I’m further away from what I really want in life. I wouldn’t say that I afraid of being lost, I think that it is actually less scary then the reality and all the things I need to and want to do in life. You see, having big dreams is great while it’s still not feeling real.

So after all this ramble I just want you to know that you are not alone and that you’ll be okay but only when you decided to be so. It takes time and it takes a hard work, because working on yourself is the hardest thing you’ll ever need to work on but at the end it will be so worth it.
