Stress is something we deal with on daily bases. Some days are more and other are less nerve wracking. Living in  a world where everything is moving so fast and we are constantly  all over the place we tend to forget to stop for a minute and listen to our body. Filling tired, anxious and nervous is the sign that you need to relax. For some people it can be pretty hard to find the best and quickest method to relax so here are some ways that might help you.

MASSAGE YOURSELF
Most of the time we only focus on relaxing our mind and forget about our body. We should look at body and mind as unity. If your body isn’t relaxed you’re not going to be able to completely relax your mind and vise versa. Self-massage is one of the quickest and easiest ways for you to relax your muscles. It’s especially great if you don’t have a lot of time but feel tense from constantly sitting at your desk working or studying. Take a five minute break and massage your neck and back. If you stand a lot during the day massage your legs.

You can use tennis or any kind of small ball and roll it with your feet to make your circulation better or gently massage your legs. There are a lot of different ways you can massage yourself and I definitely recommend you to check them out and find the ones that work the best for you.

DO YOGA
It’s not a secret how amazing Yoga is for your overall body and mind. Yoga focuses on physical and mental health. There are so many amazing Yoga videos on YouTube that are less than 15 minutes long but you can definitely feel the effect immediately after. Doing Yoga will help you reduce stress which is the biggest reason that people get tired and stiff. It will increase your energy level. While you’re doing simple movements and focusing on your breath you will start to be more mindful and get rid of any distractions. Whenever I want to do Yoga at home I always watch Yoga Wit Adriene on YouTube.

I mentioned Adrien’s channel a few times before and I still haven’t found better Yoga related channel on YouTube. I really like that she does all sort of Yoga videos such as Meditation for Anxiety, 7 Minutes Yoga Boost or Yoga For Stress Relief. Trust me you’ll be able to find at least one video you’ll really enjoy.

LISTEN TO MUSIC
I don’t know about you but…no, I’m not feeling 22…I feel that music has the power to take you into another world where only thing you can feel are happy vibrations. I’m sure that most of you listen to music every day and know from a personal experience how many different emotions music can bring in you. Putting on your favorite song or playlist is just the best feeling ever. It’s scientifically proven that music reduces stress and depression. Make playlist for when you want to relax. There are a lot of different playlists you can find on YouTube and some of them are truly amazing.

Just close your eyes for just 15 minutes and enjoy the power of music. If you suffer from insomnia maybe you should try to listen to classical music 45 minutes before you go to bed. This is especially beneficial for auditory people.

TAKE A SHOWER
Although taking the bath probably have deepest relaxation effect but when you need a quick way to relax shower is the go to option. I definitely think that taking a quick shower can make you super relaxed without consuming too much of your time. If you have extra 15 minutes before you need to leave the house or after you’ve came back just hop in the shower. Taking cold shower is even more beneficial as it’ll make you feel better. Taking shower when you feel angry, stressed or anxious will make you feel calmer, cooler and you’ll feel like all the stress is washing away. The sound of water and the feel of it on your body is like a massage which will help you relax even more.

When your body is feeling refreshed and clean your mind will feel like that as well. There’s definitely nothing better than a cold shower on a hot Summer day but taking it on a cold winter day is as good.

PLAY WITH YOUR PETS
We all know how precious animals are and how happy and relaxed they can make you feel. Owning a pet has so many benefits that include your physical, mental and emotional health. It’s scientifically proven that having a pet around you decreases blood pressure and cholesterol. Playing with your precious furry friends can get your mind off things that are making you feel anxious and stressed. Sometimes when we feel stressed and just want to calm down we don’t want to be around people but don’t want to be alone as well. That is where pets come as a saviors’. They can really sense when you’re feeling down and when you’re energy isn’t on a high level and help you increase it.

If you are a proud cat owner than I’m sure you already know how relaxing it is to pet your cat and hear that purr sound they make when they feel relaxed. Although I’m sure that you like to spend more than 15 minutes with your pets when you want to feel extra relaxed try to as present as you can.
