When was the last time you organized your phone?

We spend a lot of time on our smartphones throughout our day-to-day life. Nowadays, they provide everything we need to function in the modern world. With different social media apps, games, and widgets our phone can quickly turn into a mess. There are some ways you can easily organize your phone to operate better.

9 WAYS TO ORGANIZE YOUR PHONE

UNINSTALL ALL OF YOUR UNUSED APPS

The first thing you will want to do is go over all of your apps and delete the ones you are no longer using. There might be some games or workout apps that you completely forgot. Those are the apps that are only making your phone run slower. They are using too much storage.

You can always install them again if you need them in the future. If you don't want to fully delete apps, you can go to Storage - Apps. Choose one app you are not using daily and click Force Stop it. This way that app will still be on your phone, but it won't take up a lot of storage.

EMPTY RECENTLY DELETED PHOTOS

Most people don't have the habit of deleting their deleted photos from storage. That is one of the biggest reasons why your phone is running out of space.

In case you didn't know, when you delete a photo it stays in the "trash" until you ultimately delete it from there. You will see that images and videos in the Trash will be permanently deleted only after 30 days.

MAKE APP FOLDERS

You probably have a lot of different apps you are using daily. To make your apps organized, make folders. Create a folder full of specific categories of apps. Make social media, photography, productivity, finance, lifestyle, games, and other folders.

With different folders, your phone will look much more organized. Naming your folders will make you know exactly where your apps are. Use capital letters as that will make your folder look nicer.

CHANGE THE BACKGROUND

If it's been a long time since you changed your background, now is the time. The phone background makes a huge difference in how your phone appears. Light and minimal backgrounds will make it look clean and organized.

You need to have at least one page on your phone clear. This way the background can be fully seen. There are a lot of smartphone background options you can find on Pinterest.

MAKE A HOME PAGE COMPLETELY CLEAN

To make your phone look organized as soon as you log in, clean your home page. Move all of your unnecessary apps to the page after.

On your home page, you can only leave a message, telephone and camera apps. That way the only thing that will catch your eye is going to be your background.

MAKE SHELVES

This is a new way of organizing your phone that a lot of people are raving about. This method consists of picking your top 3 apps from the folder and placing them next to that folder.

For example, you can select Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest from your Social media folder. This way you don't need to go into your folder to open the app.

REMOVE UNNECESSARY WIDGETS

Certain widgets come along with the smartphone. Widgets as Chrome, disk, e-mail, Gmail, calendar, one drive, and others aren't pretty on the eye and only take up space. The only widget you need on your phone is the clock and weather.

TACKLE YOUR EMAIL

Most of us have an email full of unopened mails and subscriptions we never even subscribed to. Having cluttered email means that there might be some important mails you received but never saw.

Take some time to go over your email and delete any spam messages, unsubscribe from subscriptions you are no longer interested in, and reply to urgent emails.

TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS ON CLOUD

You probably have thousands of photos and videos that show a lovely memory you want to be able to look back at. Our phones can get viruses or could get damaged, and all of those memories could go away.

To prevent that from happening, transfer most of your photos and videos to the cloud. That way you will always be able to get back your favorite memories.

These are only some of the ways you can organize your phone. Do these things regularly to maintain decluttered and friendly to use the phone that will work without too much trouble.
