Perfect Apple Pie For Cozy Days In

Saturday, September 23, 2017

Whenever I think about food that just screams Autumn to me my mind immediately goes to Apple Pie. It’s a good old classic that everybody loves. After trying out quite a lot of different pie recipes this one is by far my favorite one. It turns out perfectly every single time and it’s so easy to make. So let’s bake together, shall we?

INGREDIENTS

                   DOUGH                                                                                 FILLING

30 dag of self- raised flour                                                      1 kg of apples
10 dag of butter                                                                         10 dag of sugar
7 dag of sugar                                                                             2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 egg yolk                                                                                    1 vanilla sugar
        1 teaspoon of baking soda
        2-3 tablespoons of sour cream

DIRECTIONS

1. First you need to make pastry dough. Slice the butter and mix it together with flour. Add sugar, baking soda, egg yolk and sour cream. Knead the dough until all the ingredients are connected to a smooth ball. Cover the dough with cling film and rest in the fridge for at least half an hour.

2. After you peeled and grated apples squeeze the excess juice into a cup. Add sugar, cinnamon and vanilla sugar into the apples and mix it together until it’s well combined. Try the mixture and see if it’s sweet enough because it depends on which apples you’re using

3. Remove your pastry from the fridge. Cut it in half and put on the work surface that you dusted with flour. Roll one of the pieces with floured rolling pin until it’s the size of your pie dish. Gently put the pastry in the dish. Trim all of the excess of dough around the edges with a sharp knife.

  1. Ohh I'll have to give this recipe a go! We have lots of apples on our apple tree that need using up so this is going to be great! I actually made an apple crumble this evening!
