Climbing Toward The Light by Ardath H. Rodale

Today my life is like the rain,
A constant drip of depressing thoughts
Sogging  the soil of myself.

    Ardie

On the 21st of August I went to the Library to return two books and to pick up two new. For the first book I knew I want The Great Gatsby by F. S. Fitzgerald but I wasn't sure what would be my second book. Then nice lady from Library took me to a little room where were some books that weren't exposed in library.She told me that I can take some time to pick up any book I want. You can't even imagine how excited I was. After around 15 minutes of searching I lied my eyes on this book that I've never heard of before. I just took it searched a little bit more and went. Although I know we shouldn't judge book by it's cover I was really puled with this one. I didn't even know that I'm going to read most inspiring book ever. Fun fact is that it was my first autobiography.

So I went, as he directed me, into the field with is called Ardath
and there I sat among the flowers and ate the plants of the field,
and the nourishment they afforded satisfied me.

As it says on the cover it's a journey of growth, understanding and love. Journey of a remarkable woman, wife and mother of five children. Her name is Ardath but friends and family calls her Ardie.  While reading it I really felt like I know Ardie, her family and all the hard times she had in her life...and there were quit a lot of them. It is so well written. She divided book into 3 stages. Stage 1: Beginning the climb, stage 2: Storms on the mountain and umbrella of protection and stage 3: Making progress. Her family is Bob her husband, her children Heidi, Heather, David, Anthony and Maria.

To be nobody-but-yourself- in a world which is doing it's best,
night and day. to make you everybody else-
means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight;
and never stop fighting.

I like the part when she describe the hard times she had with communication with her children and their leaving Umbrella of protection. It is so real. It described both sides. Side of the child and their thoughts and side of mother. On some parts of book I was laughing out laud but on another ones I was crying. Properly crying. Wisdom about life, love, patience and God comes out in every sentence. When I think about all the things that Ardie went true and all the sorrows she has felt but her capability to still keep going and taking positivism from every bad experience gives me faith. Faith that after all the bad things if you believe in love and God, good will come.

I honestly recommend to all of you out there to read this book. It is worth the read and I'm sure will make your lives so much better and happier.

We have to learn to turn around and face the sun.
