10 Habits To Adapt This Summer & 2 Week Habit Tracker

Monday, July 13, 2020

We all know how much benefit positive habits can bring in our life. We also know how hard it can be to actually build them into our daily lifestyle. This Summer what we will probably have plenty of is time. You might be searching for more easy habits you can adapt to your routine. Here are 10 of them. Even if you try just one of them I am sure that your everyday life is going to be so much better.

There is a lot of researches stating that it takes 21 days to build a habit. Something that I noticed is that the crucial part of those 21 days is the first two weeks. That's why I decided to help you a little bit by making a printable 2-week tracker. It is completely free and easy to download. We will get into that a little bit later. First here are your 10 habits to adopt this Summer.

#1 STICK TO MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE

We all know how important skincare is. Usually, when it comes to skincare, we are focusing more on the nighttime routine. Implementing a morning skincare routine will prevent any damages. Hot weather and sun rays can leave scars on your skin and that is definitely something you don't want. You don't need any expensive products or spend half of your morning on it.  Just using a toner and sunscreen can do a lot. The way you will for sure stick to it is if you make it suit your own needs and lifestyle.

#2 MOVE YOUR BODY (15MIN+)

Intentionally moving your body will make you happier and healthier. The key is on the intentional. Just walking around your house from one room to another won't really do much. There are so many fun and easy ways you can get that exercise into your daily routine. Those who don't like to sweat too much can try Yoga. I would recommend the following practices by Yoga With Adrien. Her videos are perfect for the complete beginners as well as for the ones who have been practicing Yoga for quite some time.

#3 PRACTICE RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS

This Summer what we need the most is positivity. Making random acts of kindness a part of our day is something we should all do. You might think that with social distancing there isn't much you can do but that is not completely true. Call your elders and let them know that you think about them. The online world also needs a lot of love as well. If you see that someone is doing their best than tell them that. Don't be shy, I'm sure that with your act of kindness you will make someone else return the favor.

#4 ASK QUESTION & FIND ANSWER

Get curious. Try to ask at least one question you've been wondering about and immediately find the answer. Do it even if the question is silly as this is the way you will learn. We are craving to know more and this is the fun way to do it. If the question comes to you naturally don't leave it for the later. Either ask someone you think may know the answer or just google it and let your mind be blown away.

#5 FIND YOUR SLEEP SCHEDULE

Long Summer days can mess up our probably already all around the place sleeping schedule. To make the most out of the day and the night it is crucial to find a sleeping schedule that works for you the best. That means that you are going to bed at a proximately the same time and also waking up at the same time. Making this a habit will make you much more energized and less tired.

#6 GET OFFLINE (FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES)

This Summer it can seem like we can vicariously live only through social media. Well, that is not the case and you will realize that if you get offline and be present in the real world. There are so many things you can do without your phone and you should take advantage of that. Try to mindfully get offline for at least 30 minutes a day. Just leave your phone and read a book or go for a walk if you can. Start with 30 minutes and then slowly start to elongate that time. You will soon enough realize what you can do when you are not scrolling through Instagram.

#7 FINISH WHAT YOU START

How many tasks you started just to never finish them? Well, that is not actually the best habit to have. That's why you need to adopt a new habit of finishing things. Even if you are on a vacation and feel like you have plenty of time, it is still better to get things done as soon as you can. Summer days can feel more relaxed but that doesn't mean that you should delay things. This will leave you with a feeling of accomplishment.

#8 READ DAILY

Summer days are perfect for a cold beverage in one hand and a good book in another. For all of you bookworms, this is probably a no brainer but for some of us, it is important to really try and make it a habit. The best way to do it is to set a certain page number or time you want to spend reading a day. Starting with just 20 minutes or one chapter is what will make your habit stick longer. Nothing can beat a good book on a beautiful Summer day.

#9 PLAN YOUR DAY THE NIGHT BEFORE

This is one of the habits a lot of successful people swear by. I can definitely see why. When you plan your day the night before you are already setting yourself for a productive and well planned day. You will get to bed with determination and be ready to get things done as soon as you see what you wrote the night before. This will assure that you are starting your day the right way.

#10 DO WEEKLY CHECK-IN

Choose one day (I recommend Sunday), to check-in with yourself. You can call it a me-time where you make a review of your whole week. This way you will be able to not only reflect on your actions but also on your emotions. You will be able to see different patterns. Ones that are making your life better and the ones that are holding you back from amazing things. You can either go through your planner or take a pen and a notebook and write down a little review of your week.
