5 Things You Should Do For Yourself Right Now

When was the last time you did something purely for yourself?

We often focus too much on the things that are going around us. While we are constantly worrying and stressing out, we forget to take care of well beating. Sometimes all we need are little things that can make us connect with ourselves and our values.

If you've been feeling out of the space, then it is probably the best time to stop for a moment and do some things just for yourself. Here are 5 things that will take you only a few minutes to do but will help you to check-in on yourself and for one focus on your own happiness.

CHECK YOUR GOAL LIST

We are more than halfway through the year. You probably don't even remember what new year's resolutions you made. Trust me, you are not the only one. Setting goals is great as it makes us stay on the right track. Now is the perfect time to either go through your new year's goals or set new ones. It is never too late to be mindful of the important things you want to achieve in life. If you are starting to get anxious about even thinking about your goals as you maybe didn't purposely do anything to achieve them, you don't need to feel that way.

This feeling is only going to stop you to move forward. You still have plenty of time to achieve everything you want but that won't happen if you ignore your goals and do nothing about them. When you realize what your goals for the rest of the year are, take some action or at least try writing down some ways you can get closer to achieving them. You can do it!

CLOSE YOUR EYES AND VISUALIZE YOUR PERFECT LIFE

After you've checked your goals it is the perfect time to actually visualize your life. Visualize where you want to be, what you want to feel, and accomplish till the end of the year. Visualization can really help it seem more real and manageable. I'm sure that you already heard for Law of attraction, and if you didn't it might be something you find interesting. You can even take it a step further and make a vision board.

Cut photos from magazines or print them and place them on board. Include things that will remind you of what you want to achieve in different fields of your life, personal, financial, work, love, etc. Once you've made it, place it somewhere where you can see it every day. The visual board can make you inspired and motivated to work even harder and achieve all of your dreams.

UNFOLLOW ANYONE WHO DOESN'T MAKE YOU FEEL INSPIRED

Social media can also serve as a visual board as we follow people that we find interesting and whose lives we admire. When you open your Instagram there should only appear accounts that give you positive vibes and make you motivated. That is the reason why it is very important to unfollow anyone who doesn't make you feel that way. Even if they did in the past, it is okay to unfollow them now.

Sometimes we forget that it is similar to growing out of friendships in real life. It doesn't make you rude or bad if you don't want to follow someone anymore. It is your right to choose who you want to be "surrounded" with on social media. Take some time and go through your social media and unfollow anyone who you don't feel connected to anymore but don't forget to follow those who make you inspired.

PLAN A ME-TIME

When was the last time to purposely planned a me-time? You might've had a lot of free time because of the social-distancing, but most of us probably didn't make an effort to have a mindful and distraction-free me-time. If you have time right now then you can take a few minutes and focus only on yourself. Try to think about the things you love to do and do them right now. If now is not the right time then put in your calendar day on which you will prioritize a me-time.

There are so many things you can do to check in with your mental, emotional, and physical health. Me-time is something we should do often as it is one of the ways of self-care that we all need. Me-time doesn't need to be anything special. Just setting 30 minutes to read a book or do a Yoga practice enough. The key of me-time is that you are present and mindful while doing things that make you feel good.

DISCCONECT TO CONNECT

Social media is a very important part of most of our lives. It brought so many benefits and made our lives so much easier. Although, as with everything else, there are some negative aspects of social media. It can get quite addicting to constantly scroll through Instagram or Facebook. Most of the time we are not even aware of how much time we spent on social media. The majority of that time is not very productive.

That is what it is crucial to realize when we are spending too much time online and disconnect. While we are disconnecting from social media we are actually connecting with ourselves. Without any distraction, we can focus on important things and get in check with ourselves. Sometimes when we spend too much time online, we lose that sense of the real world that we are actually living in.
