If you’ve spent any time in the K-beauty world, you’ve probably seen Haruharu Wonder pop up again and again, especially their Black Rice line. So when I saw their Black Rice Bakuchiol Eye Cream gaining traction, I knew I had to try it. After a few weeks of daily use, I finally feel ready to give an honest, no-fluff review of how it worked for me and whether it’s worth adding to your routine.
First Impressions
Right off the bat, the texture surprised me, in a good way. It’s a milky, lightweight cream that absorbs quickly without leaving any greasy or sticky feeling behind. Some eye creams sit on top of the skin and make makeup crease like crazy, but this one sinks in almost instantly. If you like eye products that feel breathable rather than heavy, this is already a win.
I also appreciate that this formula is made with EWG Green Grade ingredients and has completed a hypoallergenic test. It’s free from parabens and 11 other potentially irritating ingredients, which makes it a nicer option for those of us with sensitive under-eyes.
What’s Inside: The Standout Ingredients
The star ingredient here is bakuchiol, at 5,000ppm. If you’re not already familiar with bakuchiol, it’s often described as a gentler, plant-based alternative to retinol. It can help with fine lines and elasticity but without that infamous retinol sting or risk of irritation. I’ve used retinol eye products before that made my eyes water or feel sore, and I didn’t experience that at all with this one.
Then there’s Korean black rice extract at 2,000ppm. It’s fermented, which helps with deeper absorption, and brings a good dose of moisture to the under-eye area. Over time, I noticed my skin looked a bit more plump and “awake,” especially in the mornings. The cream also includes bamboo shoot extract, which adds antioxidant support and helps calm the skin, always welcome around the eyes, where the skin is the thinnest and quickest to show stress.
Haruharu Wonder also added cica and natto gum to help smooth out lines around the lids. I don’t have deep wrinkles, but I do get creasing and some early fine lines. With consistent use, the area looked more smoothed out, especially under makeup.
And I have to mention their Ultra-Deep Technology™, which is basically their way of ensuring the active ingredients penetrate more effectively. I can’t see that happening, of course, but the results felt like proof that it does something.
My Experience After a Few Weeks
I used it morning and night, tapping a tiny rice-grain amount under the eyes and on my eyelids. The directions say you can use it on both areas, and I love that; it saves me from needing two separate products.
After about a week, my under-eye area looked more hydrated and less dull. What really stood out was how smooth my concealer applied afterward. Over the next couple of weeks, I noticed a subtle softening of fine lines, especially the little creases that show up when I smile. Nothing dramatic or “instant,” but a gentle, steady improvement.
If you’re looking for a super strong, retinol-like lifting effect, this may feel too mild. But if you want something gentle, hydrating, and safe for daily use, even if you’re sensitive, this is a great fit.
Final Thoughts: Is It Worth It?
For me, yes. It checks all the boxes: lightweight, non-irritating, hydrating, and backed by thoughtful ingredients that actually make a difference over time. It’s especially good if you want a beginner-friendly, low-risk eye cream that addresses early signs of aging.
