Some people read the most books during colder months, but me, I like to dive into all the romance books I can put my hands on while it's scroching hot outside. I just find the warmer and longer days the perfect time to indulge in some captivating summer romance novels. It is even better if I'm on the beach or at the poolside. Here's a sneak peek at some of the most anticipated summer romance book releases of the year:

1. "Funny Story" by Emily Henry

Summary: In "Funny Story," Emily Henry delivers a charming and witty tale of unexpected connections. Clara is a struggling stand-up comedian who finds herself in a comedy competition alongside her college crush, Josh. As they navigate the ups and downs of the comedy circuit, sparks fly, and laughter ensues. This delightful rom-com promises laughter, heart, and a second chance at love.

If you are new to romance books, Emily Henry is one of the current most popular romance book authors. I had a chance to read Book Lovers and currently reading Happy Place. Her writing style is so flowy and easy to read. Something I lovee in Happy Place is the chemistry between the characters and I hope that it's the same in the Funny Story.

2. "Just for Summer" by Abby Jimenez

Summary: "Just for Summer" by Abby Jimenez is a heartfelt story of love, loss, and second chances. Poppy has sworn off romance after a painful breakup, but when she meets enigmatic musician Gabriel during a summer getaway, her resolve is tested. As their romance blossoms against the backdrop of sun-kissed beaches and starry nights, Poppy must confront her fears and decide if she's ready to open her heart again.

I've been seeing so many booktubers and bookstagramers raving about this book. I honestly never read anything from this author but would definitely love to. I really enjoy stories that are both funny but also have depth to them and it looks like this book might have exactly that.

3. "The Rule Book" by Sarah Adams

Summary: Sarah Adams's "The Rule Book" is a delightful enemies-to-lovers romance with a twist. When marketing executive Annabelle clashes with her new colleague, James, they devise a set of rules to coexist peacefully. But as their banter intensifies and sparks fly, they find themselves breaking their own rules. Will they embrace the unexpected chemistry between them, or will pride get in the way?

This sounds like one of those quick and enjoyable romance books that you can finish in 2 hours. I'm a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope when it's done right and I heard from some people that this book nailed it.

4. "Happily Never After" by Lynn Painter

Summary: "Happily Never After" by Lynn Painter is a modern fairy tale retelling with a romantic twist. When bookstore owner Emma discovers an old, mysterious book that seems to predict her love life, she's skeptical—until handsome stranger Finn enters her life. As Emma navigates her own love story, she discovers that happy endings may not always follow the expected path.

I've been wanting to read a book from this author for such a long time. Her book Better than the Movie has been on my wishlist for such a long time. Definitely excited to dive into her books and see if her writing style is something I would enjoy.

5. "Wild Love" by Elsie Silver

Summary: In "Wild Love" by Elsie Silver, adventure meets romance in a captivating story set in the lush wilderness. When travel blogger Mia embarks on a solo hiking trip, she never expects to cross paths with rugged guide Alex. As they navigate the untamed terrain together, Mia discovers that sometimes the greatest adventures lead straight to the heart.

Some might find it lame, but I actually really like books where the characters are bloggers or influencers. I agree that sometimes it can be a little bit cringe but I think that makes the book funny. The plot reminds me of those Hallmark movies where a city girl meets a manly countryside man.

I love romance books as they are a perfect getaway after a long busy day. Finding a cozy reading spot and diving into romance book is just so much fun. These enchanting summer romance books promise to transport you to captivating worlds filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable characters. Whether you're lounging by the pool, relaxing on the beach, or enjoying a quiet afternoon indoors, these novels are perfect companions for lazy summer days. So grab your favorite drink, find a cozy spot, and get ready to fall in love with these enticing reads of 2024.
