Are you feeling like doing nothing?

There are some days when we just don't feel like doing anything. Even if you can spend the whole day in your bed, that might not be the best idea. It would be better if you still did some things that are not going to take a lot of your energy or time. What we need is to find an activity that will make us feel good.

10 THINGS YOU SHOULD DO IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING ANYTHING

1. TRY A NEW RECIPE

Have you been eating the same 3 meals over and over again? Most of us tend to just stick with easy and well-known recipes. It is about time you show your cooking skills. There are so many incredible recipes you can make in under 20 minutes.

If you usually don't have time to cook every day, meal prepping is something you should start doing. This will save you time throughout the week. The easiest way to think of what to make is to go to your kitchen and see what ingredients you have. Search online for what you can do with them and start cooking.

2. READ A BOOK

This will always be one of my recommendations. Reading is such a fun yet educational way to spend your time. I know that there are a lot of people who don't like reading, but I suggest you give it a try. Some people think they don't like books because they read bad ones or were forced to read while they were in high school. There are so many different genres you can choose from.

Maybe you don't like novels but would love poems or self-help books. A lot of people overlook graphic novels, comics, and manga. If you don't know what to do right now, just pick some of these suggestions and start reading. If you don't like what you are reading then leave it and pick up something else.

3. GO THROUGH OLD CLOTHES

Put on some dance playlist, grab a glass of vine and tackle your closet. Although you may be in the process of denying that Summer is over, I'm sad to say but that is true. It is about time you go through your closet and get rid of any clothes you are no longer wearing.

One of the best and quickest ways to do it is to pick a clothing piece and keep it if you wore it in a year and throw it away if you didn't. Make a pile for donating, a pile for keeping, and a pile for throwing away.

4. WRITE IN A JOURNAL

Take this time to reflect and connect with yourself. Even if you are not into journaling, this is something we should all do once in a while. It doesn't need to be anything special. If you don't want to commit to it fully just grab a piece of paper and start writing. It can be about anything that comes to your mind.

Write about the things you are grateful for, things you are nervous about, or the things you want to accomplish in the future. Those who would like to make it a habit can grab an empty notebook and do Morning Pages or a bullet journal.

5. TRY A FREE TRIAL

Nowadays, with technology, it is so easy to learn new skills. There are so many amazing courses you can take. The best part is that some of them are completely free. I recommend watching some of the Skillshare courses. There are so many of them about different things that might interest you.

Who knows, maybe it will help you achieve your dreams. Just write free courses in the Google search bar and you will be presented with hundreds of free courses you can take right now. The best thing is that you can do it from the comfort of your home.

6. VIDEOCALL A FRIEND

You may not feel like doing anything but a video call with your best friend will surely put a smile on your face. We are still facing some hardships because of the pandemic, but also some personal things that may have been happening to us. It is necessary to check out each other and see how we are doing.

Moral support is what we all need. This is especially important if you haven't seen your friends in a long time. Now is the right time to grab your phone and call them. I'm sure that a few hour's talks with them will instantly boost your mood.

7. WATCH YOUR FAVORITE TV SHOW OR MOVIE

Self-care comes in different shapes, and watching your favorite tv show or movie might be one for you. I'm sure you already have a list of the shows you can binge-watch anytime. For me that is Friends. I could watch that show anytime. If you don't feel like rewatching anything I recommend turning on a Korean drama.

I know that this might seem weird for some of you but just trust me. Once you dive into the world of Korean drama, you will not want to go out. There are so many amazing ones. Leave a comment if you want me to recommend you some of my all-time favorite ones.

8. DO A YOGA PRACTICE

A little bit of movement is always good. Although you might not feel like doing anything, Yoga could be something you should do. It is such a peaceful and mindful practice. What I love about Yoga the most is the fact that you are moving your body, but you don't feel like you are working out.

All of the moves are so well connected with your body and your mind. If you always wanted to start Yoga but don't want to go to a Yoga course, I highly recommend checking out Yoga With Adriene. It is a YouTube channel by Adriene. She is sharing incredible Yoga practices.

9. TAKE A BREAK FROM SOCIAL MEDIA

The best thing you can do when you feel like doing nothing is to take a break from social media. Instagram. TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook can sometimes be overwhelming. It may not feel like it, but you need a social media detox.

Some are afraid of it because they think that they need to go without their phone for a few days. That is not true. Even if you do a simple 1-hour social media detox, it can drastically help your overall well-being.

10. CREATE A BUCKET LIST

One of the best ways to get motivated is to write a list of all the things you want to do. I'm sure you did this at least once in your life. This is a fun thing to do that will make you feel excited about the future. It is almost the end of the year so there is a little bit of time left to do things you always wanted to. It doesn't need to be anything extraordinary. As it is Autumn now you can make an Autumn bucket list and start crossing things from it.
