Dealing With Creativity Block

Monday, June 19, 2017

If you like to be a creative person or your job demands you to be one, then the creativity block is definitely something you don't feel very happy about. I'm sure that you experienced creativity block at least once in your creative life. Although we all dread it there is some ways we can make it go away faster.

TURN OFF
If you are a blogger or YouTuber then you spend quite a lot of time on social medias. Sometimes maybe more than you should. I'm definitely guilty of that. Constant flow of different information's of which most of them aren't important can take over your brain. It can literally suck all of your creativity out of you. You know you've been thinking about it, just do it. TURN OFF YOUR PHONE. Take a break from social life it won't go anyway if you leave it for couple of hours.

DRAW
Now that you've finally got rid of that annoying phone, go back to beginning when you felt most creative. Go to your childhood. Take some paper and color pens and draw. Just let your imagination do its thing. Don't you dare to tell yourself that stupid excuse "I don't know how to draw." Yes you do. It doesn't need to be a master peace. Who knows maybe there is an actual artist in side of you.

GET LOST
I think that this one must be my favorite one. Going outside and just walking in random direction is so good. Especially if you haven't been there before. It gives you that exciting feeling. My favorite place to go is nature and woods. I usually stick to known pathways as I don't want to actually get lost in a big forest. Trees, flowers and animals always make me so much energized and happy.

STOP OVERTHINKING
If you need to write a blog post, shoot a YouTube vide, write an essay or draw something for your art class, overthinking won't help. It'll make your block even worse. It's never a good idea to force your creativity. It will come back to you but firs you need to set it free. Meditating could help you clear your mind. That's way you'll have a mind ready to accept the right kind of thoughts.
