4 Simple Ways To Find Balance In Life

Tuesday, June 2, 2020

Finding balance in life is a mission that takes time and patience. The thing about balance is that you can have it in one part of your life but not in another one. It also means that not having balance in one area can lead to not having balance in different ones. While some find it hard to balance personal life and work, others have a hard time balancing pleasure and pain.

So how to get closer to finding balance in all parts of our life?

SET BOUNDARIES

Balance is something that can be shaken from inside and from the outside. Knowing what you want and how you want it is what will make it easier for you to stay grounded. Sometimes we feel out of focus because of the riots inside of us. What we usually don't realize is the disturbance that is coming from the outside. It may come from toxic people in your life or social media. There are a lot of people who have a hard time setting boundaries for themselves and for others. They usually feel like something that pushes others away. When in fact boundaries are there to let ourselves and others know how we want to be treated. There is nothing wrong with that.

When you don't have set boundaries in your personal and work life then others can take advantage of you. They get the image that they can treat you as they wish. That is something that can definitely throw you out of balance. Speak up for yourself and don't let anyone treat you any less then you deserve to be treated. This goes for you as well, don't look down on yourself and let yourself mistreat your body and mind. Before you set boundaries with others make sure that you set clear boundaries with yourself. This is a long-lasting journey but something we all need to start doing right now.

DEVELOP PERSONAL ROUTINE

Establishing a personal routine is what will help you maintain a well-balanced life. You can find a lot of people talking about how to create a daily routine online. What I find the most important is to always make a routine based on your own lifestyle and not based on someone else's. I know a lot of people who just can't stick to a routine and that is all because they are basing it on someone else's life. You can't follow a routine of a celebrity or anyone else as their life is probably completely different than your own.

This is one of the reasons why a lot of people just quit after some time. It is because their foundation is wrong, to begin with. Of course, you can try and implement different habits into your own routine but soon enough you will realize which ones are suited for you and which ones aren't. Once you find a perfect personal routine for yourself you will be able to feel more balanced. Don't force something that just isn't fit for your lifestyle.

EMBRACE THE GOOD AND THE BAD

Good and bad days are a part of life. Although it may not be something we want, there will always be days that are not so good. Dealing with both positive and negative situations in the right way is something we need to work on for a balanced life. The way we look at life has a big impact on how we react in different situations. Overly emotional situations can bring reactions that are not usual for us. We can't expect to only experience happy moments and never feel sad or dishearted. That is just not realistic.

Mindset is what can make even a bad day a little bit positive. There is so much we can learn from negative experiences only if we embrace them and see them for what they are, an opportunity to grow and become a better person. Life itself is a balance between different moments. Accepting only good things and refusing bad is not going to help us learn how to deal with them. Something that might help you go through bad situations is the fact that without those bad moments we wouldn't be able to appreciate the good ones.

REFLECT TO CONNECT

When was the last time you took some time to reflect on your actions, thoughts, and emotions? However long it may be, right now is the perfect time to reflect and connect. In the business of everyday life, it is so easy to lose that inner connection that we have with ourselves. That inner voice that tells us when we did something wrong or when we should give ourselves some credit. When we feel like something is missing in our life the first area we need to look at is within us. Most likely we are just walking on a path that is not ours. Taking time to connect with yourself can be scary.

Of course, it is scary as it means that you need to dig deep into thoughts and emotions that you suppressed for a long time. The thing is that you don't need much to actually reflect. What you need are a calm place and your presence. That is it. The most important thing is that you are honest with yourself. The most destructive lies are those that we tell to ourselves. Once you start that journey you will come back so much happier and your mind will be clear. That is exactly what you need to find balance in life.
