Ways to Have a Fulfilled Summer as a Homebody

Wednesday, August 1, 2018

I’m sure that at least once in your life at the end of the day you asked yourself: “What did I actually do today?” Well that’s probably because you haven’t done anything meaningful or at least not enough of those kind of things to say that you had an amazing day. It seems like days pass quicker and quicker as it is but with social media it’s easy for a whole Summer to pass by without you doing anything or noticing it when the leaves start to fall. Just because you are a homebody and choose staying at home over crazy summer parties doesn’t mean that you can’t have as much fun. You just need to find them at different places.

ATTACK YOUR BOOKSHELF
Summer is the best time to tick off all the books from your reading list that you’ve wanted to read for years. I’m sure that you have books on your bookshelf just sitting there collecting dust. Something that helps me get motivated to read books that I already own is that I stop buying new books until I read all of the ones on my bookshelf. Although one might say that Autumn is the perfect time for snuggling in your cozy spot and reading but I think that there’s no such thing as a perfect season for books as all seasons are perfect seasons.

I like to switch from books that deal with heavy topics to the ones that I can easily read and relax with. There’s nothing wrong with reading romantic novels as I sometimes can feel people judging and underestimating those kinds of books. Choose the book that you know you’ll enjoy and get into it. Self- help books are also the perfect choice as why not learn new ways to grow as a person while sitting in your backyard drinking lemonade. There are a lot of them out there for almost every problem that you may have in your life.

INVITE YOUR FRIENDS OVER
Some homebodies don’t feel comfortable at places with a lot of people around them as parties and clubs. It doesn’t mean that they’re not social it just mean that they pick their company wisely. If you are that someone (I definitely am) then hosting a BBQ might be the perfect thing for you to do this Summer. Hosting a BBQ means that you can invite only the ones which company you really enjoy and love to talk to. Hanging out with loved ones is always great and if you involve food it just can’t go wrong. You don’t need to do everything alone.

If it’s your first time hosting any kind of hangout then be sure to ask for help from your family and friend. I’m sure that they would be more than happy to take part in making it as enjoyable as the can. Everybody can bring some dish or drinks with them or help you make the place look nice. I’ve hosted a BBQ last Summer and it was so much fun. To make it even more entertaining take out board games and let the fun begin. I’m sure that it will become one of your favorite Summer memories. Just remember that it doesn’t need to be perfect, don’t stress out and just enjoy it.

GET CREATIVE
I know that the term creative is quite broad but that’s what’s so perfect about it. You can express your creativity in so many different ways. The summer weather is just amazing for transferring that creativity from the inside to the outside. Take your camera and have a photo shoot with the best possible mode- nature. Get artistic and explore new ways of photography. Afterward you can make a printable art from the photos you take and decorate your home which is another way to get creative. Take a time to go through every room in your home and find new ideas to make it look fresh and aesthetically pleasing.

Pinterest is a great source of inspiration. I like to look for easy but beautiful do it yourself project that you can make for no money. I’m always for reusing old products and giving them a new life. If you prefer painting and drawing over photography then grab that brush or pen. The fun thing is that you don’t need to change your model at all. Putting your emotions on a canvas is so beautiful but if you are more of a verbal person than putting them on a paper might be your way of doing it. You can find creativity in every corner; you just need to start looking.
