Making The Most Out Of Homestay

I hope you are all doing well!

With the coronavirus spreading throughout the whole world it seems like the best way to fight it is to stay in the comfort of our own home. Those who are used to being active and spending their time outside might find this a little bit challenging. It may seem like there aren't enough interesting things to do behind four walls. Well, that isn't completely true. You won't even believe how many fun and productive things you can do while spending most of your day inside.

LEARN NEW RECIPE

This might be the perfect time to get creative in the kitchen. Most of the time we just make the same old dishes because we don't want to spend extra time finding new recipes and trying them out. Those who enjoy cooking and baking can make their own Great British Bake Off and challenge themselves to try new recipes. I'm sure that you have a Pinterest board full of amazing recipes you always wanted to give a go. Before your next visit to the grocery store, make sure to write down all the ingredients you need so that you can get to work as soon as possible.

If you are living with your family, boyfriend or friends, make it a fun game. Make turns in making breakfast, lunch or dinner each day. To make it even more interesting judge each dish and at the end of the week announce the winner. You can make your own rules and make it even more fun. This is the perfect way to exchange new recipes but also make each day a little bit more interesting.

HAVE A MOVIE NIGHT

You probably have some movies you just never got around to watch. Now is the time to choose one or few on that list and have a movie night. To make the atmosphere even more cinema-like, make some popcorn, turn off all the lights and get cozy. Everything is better when you have company so invite a few of your friends or family over to your home. Movie nights are also a great way to take your mind off all the negative news that showcased on the internet and television.

This is a great way to practice self-care and relax. In case you already watched all the movies you wanted to, you can always start a new TV show everybody's been talking about or even better watch some interesting documentaries. Documentaries are a great way to learn new and interesting things. Whatever you chose make sure to focus only on that for an hour or two.

ORGANIZE YOUR PLANNER FOR A WEEK/MONTH

Those who didn't really start the new year on the right foot and are constantly trying to figure out what and when they need to do something could definitely take this time to organize their life. If you are working from home or as a university student if you don't have classes at the moment, take this time to go over your planner. These few weeks might be the slowest ones that make them the best to get back on track.

Take a few moments to slowly go over your calendar and see if you have any important deadlines or events happening in the next few weeks or a month. Then you can write them down in your planner and with that everything additional you need to do for them. If there is anything you can do right now to make your life easier in the future, do it. Better now when you maybe don't have much going on than later where you need to go back into the hectic daily life.

CHECK ON FAMILY & FRIENDS

Now more than ever we need to take care of each other. In the business of everyday life, we tend to forget to check in with our loved ones. This is completely normal as we are trying to deal with different things throughout the day and at the end of it all we want to do is to just lay in our bed and not think about anything. With the bad news everywhere around us, it is important to call our older family members to see how they are doing. This will mean a lot to them and also it will take their and your mind from the negativity.

Catching up with your best friend will probably take a decent amount of time as those kinds of conversations last for hours.  Who doesn't love a  good old rant with your girl about all the topics in the world? Although we should make this something we do on the regular basics, you can definitely feel the difference in times like these ones. If there is somebody you thought about while reading this be sure to grab a phone and text them or give them a call right now.

START A NEW HOBBY

Knitting, painting, scrapbooking, photographing, bullet journaling, creative writing, etc. These are just some of the things you maybe wanted to do but thought that you don't have time for them. While you are spending most of your time at home why not finally start a new hobby. Most people just tend to not even start because they set up the bar too high. A hobby doesn't mean that you need to master it to perfection. It should be a way to let your creativity out while doing something beneficial for your mind and body.

So just pick something and start. You'll soon realize how quickly the time passes while you are immersed in the activity itself. The best thing is that you can always try different things until you realize what suits you the best. That's the fun of finding new hobbies. It doesn't matter if you are not particularly good at it as long as you have fun. If you have kids, doing something with them is going to be even more interesting.
