Simple Things You Can Do Today For Healthier Skin

Monday, March 5, 2018

Healthy and fresh skin is probably a dream of most girls, especially the ones who struggle with their skin. I’m definitely among those and constantly trying to find the best natural ways to take care of my not-so-great-at-the-moment skin. This constant search can get a little bit disheartening when you feel like you’ve tried every single skincare product and treatment but you can see a long term result. I wanted to share with you simple things I do to make my skin at least a little bit more healthy and fresh.

STEAM YOUR FACE
Steaming is a great way to open up your pores in a very easy and quick way. Making it a first step of your skincare routine is a perfect start to healthier skin. Before you start to steam your face you should only remove your makeup. Sometimes just warm water or exfoliating isn’t enough for you to get rid of all the dead skin and left over makeup or skin care products. This is something I haven’t heard a lot of beauty bloggers and YouTubers talking about and I really believe that it’s an amazing way to help your skin. It is super simple, all you need is boiled water, a bowl and if you want to you can ass essential oils of your choice.

You shouldn’t be too close to the water as that can actually damage your skin. You will know that you’re too close when it starts to burn. It’s best to do it for around 10 minutes. Don’t do it for longer as the heath can damage your skin. This is also a great way for you to relax after a long day. Steam will increase the circulation in your whole face. After you steamed your face you can go ahead with the rest of your skincare.

MAKE HOMEMADE MASKS
Making your own face mask is a great way to nourish your skin using all natural ingredients. If you want to be completely sure that your skin won’t be irritated by skincare products or if you have a very sensitive skin, than this is definitely the best option. There are so many different masks you can make for different types of skin and the problem you have. This is definitely a skincare on a budget. I honestly couldn’t recommend you to try them more as I noticed on myself and my skin how beneficial they are. The best part is that they are so easy to make and you probably already have all the ingredients in your home.

The whole process of making them probably lasts less than 5 minutes. After you try out few of them you can see which ones work best for you and stick to them or just try a new one every single day. Most of the face masks that you can buy in drugstores you can’t use every day because of the ingredients and chemicals in them. In the past I wrote the whole post about 3 of my favorite homemade face masks and how you can make them as well so be sure to check that post out here

LEAVE IT ALONE
I know so many girls that are constantly touching their face, looking for and pooping out pimples and scratching the dry parts of their faces. If you like to read beauty related blog posts or articles I’m sure that at least once you read how bad it is for your skin if you touch it a lot. This was actually one of the first skincare tips I came across and that stacked with me for all those years. Just leave your face alone. When you’re outside going to work or university you probably use public transport. We all know that public transport isn’t the cleanest place.

So try to think what kind of bacteria and dirt you pick up on your hands while you’re outside, and now try to think how many times you touched your face and transferred them on your face. You see this is definitely not helping you to get rid of pimples, redness, irritation and acne. I know that touching your face can be a unconscious act but you should definitely try to keep it at minimum. At least be sure that your hands are clean so even when you accidentally do it you know that your hands are as clean as they can be in that moment.

GO MAKEUP FREE
Makeup is one of the things that is very present in everyday life of every girl in one way or another. Although we all don’t have the same preference and we don’t share the same way of expressing ourselves through makeup I definitely think that going makeup free for at least half a day is very important. I would definitely say that skincare holds a big part in this as if you’re happy with your skin and actually except it as it is you’ll be more comfortable to go makeup free more often. I see it like this, it’s a big circle, you probably apply makeup to either to emphasize part of your face that you find beautiful or to cover up the imperfections.

Well the makeup can actually be the reason for those imperfections, so while you try to cover it you can actually make it even worse. One of the big reasons for that is not removing your makeup properly and actually having it on even when you think that you are barefaced. We all have those days when we feel absolutely comfortable without a bit of makeup on and days when we if nothing else just feel like wearing makeup. That’s completely normal and fine but we need to think that sometimes our skin just need some time to breath. If you can’t go makeup free maybe you can skip some makeup products and make it as light as you can.
